Isolation Transformer Connector for WG4600?
« on: September 15, 2005, 05:57:23 pm »
I received my isolation transformer today (quite hefty!), which simply has 4 terminals (2 'Primary' and 2 'Secondary'), and no wires or connectors at all.  My WG monitor has a 2-pin white plastic connector for the power input, which looks pretty standard.  I was hoping the transformer would come with some kind of standard connector, but nothing doing.  What's the best/safest way to jack this thing into my monitor?  Hack up a regular power cord, chop off the 2-pin connector on my monitor, and splice it in?   ::)  Get a hold of the other end of this WG 2-pin connector somehow?

The correct mating connector you need is Molex # 19-09-1029 Two pin white housing and either #02-09-1101 pins or 02-09-1116 pins.

You may be able to order some free samples from Molex themselves.  I've done it in the past.

I looked up the product numbers you mentioned on molex.com.  The first looks like a 3x3 block of connectors.  The second is I guess the metal pin that goes into the housing.  So I'd be using a generic 9-pin block and only using 2 of the pins?  Well, if I'm doing THAT, maybe I can just use some of the stuff I already have.  There's some adapters leftover in my cab for connections I am not using, maybe one would fit the monitor connector...
