K7000 repair advice needed
« on: September 07, 2005, 07:04:29 am »
So I'm going through the inventory and plugged in a k7000 (which I thought was working) and I get this.  This is a stable image but repeated 3 times with this weird intermittent lines--I wasn't sure how to describe it to even google an answer so I thought I would post here and see if anyone else had this isssue.

nope standard 15khz right off a game board--but i was thinking its a sync issue--i tried differnt combos of sync but they all result in the same picture so i'm thinking its a component failure of some kind

Looks more like you have a medium res monitor being fed a standard res signal (or vise versa).

Did this monitor have a fresh capkit installed?

no cap kit but it is a plain jane k7000 and konami time pilot board--so no res issues there.  the picture is as you see it--the blue splotches in the upper right are supposed to read free play and as you can see this is repeated 3 times on the monitor in a static non rolling image.  As you can plainly see the problem is not easily described.

It does look like a sync issue.  Have you tried adjusting it out?

I recently had a U5000 that gave me a similar picture (four pictures on one tube).  Turns out it was just WAY out of sync.

Ok you were all right and I was hopelessly mislead :D  I now belive that the monitor came out of the narc machine I once owned (how sad is that that I can't remember what games have gone through here) At any rate, I'm going to test it out on a guys med res board and see how it looks.  Thanks for not flaming me  ;)
