What Boot Skin Utility to Use?
« on: September 06, 2005, 11:22:01 pm »
Hi,

Well here I am wading into the cabinet building arena for the first time.  I have chosen to get MAME32 running on my WinXP machine before embarking on the the actual construction.

I have got MAME32 up and running and I have my front end booting from the Startup line.  Now I need some help picking a boot screen utility.  I tried BootXP and LoginBootUI with no luck.  I have downloaded screens, but they don't seem to work.  The program seems to be looking for an executable file.  The instruction included with both programs aren't really clear on what is required.

Can someone help by steering me to a tutorial or something.  I would like a Tron theme if possible.

Thanks in advance for your advice and time.

John

I used a little program called BootXP (v2.5). Its not freeware but there are "ways" of making it so. Check google.

Thanks for the help folks.  It seems that Boot Skin is the go to program for me.
Thanks again.

sportswizdan,

I am using 3DArcade/Emulaxian because it was the only front end I could get to work with Mame32.  :-\
I like it, but I am having a terrible time trying to get the skins to work properly.
I really like the classic arcade skin, but I can't get the game loading screen to fit properly. ???
What do you use?
