39-in-1 multi pcb
« on: September 04, 2005, 01:02:03 am »
I'm looking at buying either the 39-in-1 pcb or the arcadeshop programmable pcb.  I read that Ms Pac-Man and Galaga have joystick timing issues, especially when Ms Pac-Man is set to fast mode.  Does anyone know if the 39-in-1 control issues have been fixed in the latest boards?

I would prefer to go ahead and purchase the arcadeshop pcb but my wife wants Ms Pac-Man to be set to fast mode and it doesn't appear that the arcadeshop pcb will do it.

The arcade shop board will play both regular and fast.

Thanks.  Looks like I'll be buying the arcadeshop pcb.

Exactly how do these boards work?  It looks like I could plug in a Computer monitor and then it has a jamma board?  Is there some sort of connector for the jamma boards that I could use to hook up controls?  I am asking because I would be interested if I can just buy one of these, hook up a computer monitor and then wire up my controls?  Is it that simple (it seems like I would at least need some sort of connector for the fingerboard unless I learn to solder....which I won't!).

You can always get a complete JAMMA wiring harness.

You need a jamma wired arcade cabinet.  You can't use a computer monitor.  You would need a power supply, jamma harness, arcade monitor, and a jamma pcb if you were going to wire the cabinet yourself.

Just plug the PCB into the normal Jamma cabinet's Jamma harness then it will work. A Jamma cabinet will come with the Arcade monitor + chassis which is difference with TV or PC monitor.

I don't want to confuse any issues, but some of the multi-boards do indeed also have a VGA output in addition to the CGA one.
