Problem, probably easy fix, need help.
« on: September 03, 2005, 07:31:37 pm »
I saved mame32, version 67 ( I think) from my current cabinet onto a cd. I also saved all the moonwalker roms, because I am going to make a dedicated moonwalker cab thats just runs moonwalker from an old pc. When I put the disk into  the other computer, everything is on there, mame loads up and everything, but it tells me I have moonwalker roms still missing....When I had all the mame roms on it on my other machine it works, but when I just put just the moonwalker roms into the roms folder, it tells me I have files missing and wont run the game. So basically it works when all mame roms are on it, but doesnt when just the moonwalker roms are...why is this? It has to be moonwalker bootled too, not set 1 or anything else, because thats the only one that has an attraction mode playing when no ones at the cab, I cant figure out whats goin on, so could someone help? Is there like one rom you need that runs all the games, then the moonwalker roms? I dunno.... :-\...please help.
Coming soon: 4 player mame cab and Scratch built Moonwalker....Hall of Fame, here I come!

In MAME32, right click on the game name and choose "audit".  I think it will tell you what is missing.  Then search for those files on the other system.

BAH!! I found the problem!  :D Apparently there was another rar database just called "MOONWLK" that wasnt in alphabetical order on my first machine, so I figured moonwlka and moonwlkb  were the only roms, soo...after getting frustrated, I just started extracting all the "M" games into the roms folder on the new computer, and sure enough, there was a file just called "MOONWLK", then MOONWLKA" and "MOONWLKB". It was telling me I had to incorrect roms because I only had 2 3rds of the game, but it is working now, I dont know where on my first machine that file is, it must be floatin around in the middle somewhere, not in alphabetical order.....
