Wells Garder D9100 flip screen yoke plug
« on: August 25, 2005, 03:43:39 pm »
I am almost (finally!) finished with my cocktail cab and have had a wells gardner d9100 monitor for it for months now. My cab has a third side control panel so I have run into the issue that others have had with needing to flip the screen so it faces the third panel.

I noticed on the d9100 that right above the yoke input on the monitor board there is another identical input labeled reverse. Im thinking this is really cool since I can just remove the yoke plug from the normal and place in the reverse input?

I assume the u3100 which many people have used does not have this reverse input since many people have had to use software to rotate the screen or cut and splice the yoke wires. Has anyone who has a d9100 used the reverse input? Any issues? Im going to try it in a day or two when I get time to work on it again.

Call Wells Gardner tech support.  They will tell you if that is what it is for.

Ok, I tried the reverse input and it works perfect!!

So for anyone who is building a cocktail cab with a third side panel and hasnt chosen a monitor yet this will flip the screen without software or manually reversing the wires yourself. The only drawback to this monitor is it is a hybrid, not a true arcade monitor like the u3100 which is better if you want true scanlines.

I will say this monitor kicks ass in vector games. The colors are very rich, I personally think its an excellent monitor.
