Mamewah Application not running?
« on: August 23, 2005, 11:37:14 pm »
I just got my cabinet up and running for the first time... played SF2, exited Mamewah, turned off my computer, turned the computer on again later, tried to launch Mamewah again only to see the screen go blank for a sec or two then back to my original screen.
Anyone know why Mamewah is now not launching?

Thanks,
Aki

Sounds like your layout is in the wrong resolution.

Thats what I originally thought... and they were different but the computer and the mamewah config are both 640 x 480 16 bit color... and Mamewah is still not launching

Any other suggestions?

Well, if you are getting kicked out before your getting started, the layout itself may be the wrong resolution, not mamewah.  Go to the layout editor and select your layout, add the pic and check the size.  Also make sure your layout path is correct.

Check mamewah.log - it should give an indication of what's happening.

Heres what my log says....

8/23/2005 8:30:35 PM MAMEWAH launched
8/23/2005 8:30:35 PM Cursor scheme: Windows default, Arrow: (None), Wait: (None), AppStarting: (None)
8/23/2005 8:30:35 PM Desktop colour: 6838104
8/23/2005 8:30:35 PM Wallpaper filename: C:\Documents and Settings\Owner\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Wallpaper1.bmp
8/23/2005 8:30:35 PM Display mode: 640x480 @ 1Hz, 16 bit colour
8/23/2005 8:30:35 PM Decimal symbol: '.'
8/23/2005 8:30:35 PM Games list read: mame-0.lst
8/23/2005 8:30:35 PM Mode 640 x 480 @ 60, 16bit colour not available
8/23/2005 8:30:35 PM MAMEWAH quit

Any thoughts?  When I first ran the program to load the games list... everything was ok.  After I restarted my computer I cant get it to work again. (nothing was changed in MAEWAH)

Minwah I also PM'ed you.. just in case you check that first.  =)

8/23/2005 8:30:35 PM Display mode: 640x480 @ 1Hz, 16 bit colour
blahblah
8/23/2005 8:30:35 PM Mode 640 x 480 @ 60, 16bit colour not available

Wierd (the 1Hz bit)...

Try setting a different resolution/refresh rate/colour depth.

Actually before you do that try setting your desktop mode to 640x480, 60Hz, 16 bit colour.  then restart and try again.
