« on: August 22, 2005, 09:42:20 pm »
Guys,

I count 5500 games in mame but when i have a look in Game EX theres only 3000, is this because gameEX reads all the same games as ONE ?.

Thanks

There is an option under config to remove duplicates or something along those lines. It will essentially remove duplicates or only supply the best working version.

Gamex is the best front end out there

I was of course stating opinion, jeez there are some nazis in here j/k  :police:

You can send command lines with it which will flip mame for you, and I am sure asking the author tspiers, he would add it. He seems very accommodating

What has that got to do with Game Ex? I could launch a game from a command prompt and flip mame. I meant Game Ex does not rotate.

I wonder if he will release an SDK or API for it. It would be that hard to flip it. I wonder if there is a Windows tweak program out there that will do it for you.

There are many ways to flip windows.I have tried these over the years with varying success.

I have a Cocktail table.

I used Game Launcher for 3 years, but it's not supported that much anymore and the latest versions of Windows can interrupt it's operation. Its better suited to DOS I feel.

Just a couple of months ago (Oh Joy!) I discovered MaLa. This FE (in my opinion) has the best Mame FE rotation/flip options and does it 'on the fly' . Oh Joy.

I had a brief look at MaLa and was interested. It looks fairly on par with gameex, but for me becuase gameex is already set up there isnt a lot of motivation on my side to switch to another FE and reconfigue all my emu's MP3 and apps

My FE , Atomic, flips on fly for coktail mode too.  (just have to press a button (you can define which one) and it flips.    I didn't code "rotation" on fly because i don't see the interrest you would have to rotate your screen physicaly too?
