Don't know the answer to your question but what I'm after is a steering wheel that I can use on my Dreamcast and my PC.

I was thinking that maybe I could get a Playstation compatible steering wheel and then use it with my Dreamcast and PC using converters. Unfortunately, most of the really good wheels these days seem to be USB only.

This one is what you're looking for: it uses modules to plug in to PC, DC or PS:

Not exactly cheap, but looks very sturdy (weighs 8 Kg's !) You get a cartridge of your choice with the wheel, and can order seperate cartrisges for the other system you want to use it on.

Yes, i thought this would be a good alternative for a cab too. But it doesn't say how the cartridge for the PC interfaces to the PC. USB won't be any good for my cab, since I'm running DOS. It really looks very good.

Alternatives are the real things: original cab steering wheels and pedals from f.i. Suzo. I can get them, but are total more than triple the price of this set.....

AND how to inferface them ??

My ideal would be a racing-only cab but that'll take a while :)

This also an idea i toyed with but can imagine it would be a nightmare to do. My cab will have mame on it and also a dreamcast set up to the controls.

would have liked something like this to play outrun and other driving games on mame and also crazy taxi, daytona on dreamcast not sure if this is even possible.

Sure, but you gotta switch the cartridges on that steering wheel each time you switch from PC to DC and back...well, this is for later...

That wheel looks pretty good but I'm not finding a source in the UK. I wonder if they're still being made? Also, I wonder how much the cartridges cost.

if i remember from my research those wheels are now discontinued, you may try ebay, but they cost a ton.

im building a dedicated driving cab now, it will have xbox, ps2 amd dc. i started with a dc madkatz wheel, it was nice but too hard to mount. so i went with the interact v4 which is much easier to mount but there is a shortage of adapters to go from dc to anything else, so now ive decided to use a ps2 interact v4 with adpaters for dc and xbox. seems to be a good solution. im going to put a 19" or 20" svid tv in there. its going into a gutted turbo cab. my next hurdle is how to mount the pedals so they are more arcade friendly, or switch to a sit down cab
