  • I want to build my own arcade controls!
Hello
« on: August 19, 2005, 06:29:53 am »
Just thought i should say Hi.
i've recently cought the cab building bug and thought i should come and join this forum after the main site gave me so much help in my first build :D

here is my first cab, recently finished.
everything turns on when you flick the plug on. there are no extra pc on buttons. i've used X-Arcade BYO stuff for the controls and it's powerd by an AMD 500mhz, 256mb ram, 10gig hdd, ATI Rage Pro. and it's running MAME v0.55 for extra speed.

this is my latest purchase. it was very reasonable as the monitor was blown. it runs of VERY old PC hardware with a Rom boot card which loads the game. i have since got it running again. and at the mo i'm adding a MAME pc to the spare control pannel.
so to switch from that to the original it's just a matter of unplugging the coin mech and monitor cable and swapping CPs over.

and this is my first "proper" cab. again i got it with a non working monitor but got it fixed up.
quite nice Galaga repro artwork. shame about the ammount of buttons on the CP. At the mo i'm running a Neo-Geo 1 slot in it.
