Supergun help
« on: August 18, 2005, 03:04:48 am »
I'm wanting to build a Supergun for as cheap as possible... I'll improve on it later if I think it needs it  ;)

So... my plans so far:
PC power supply
JAMMA harness (of course)
Controllers - I already have some I can wire up for the purpose

The only thing I'm unsure of is the TV output... I'm stuck with composite because I'm not going to buy a new TV  ::) (not YET anyway...)
I've heard you can use some console to TV adaptors, but which ones? Can anyone recommend one that will work?

It says on his site they only ship to USA & Canada :(
(also wanting to see if there was a cheaper way... probably not...)

I have an old Amiga 520 TV modulator... converts the Amiga's RGB out to RF and/or composite. Has anyone used one of these? I believe it needs a clock input, not sure how to go about this.

Are you in europe?

Then why not just use straight rgb thru scart?

Later,

nope... Australia.
Only high-end TVs have SCART and/or component. Most don't even have S-Video.

Would something like this convert SCART RGB to composite? Or does it just pass through the SCART composite?

I may have found the solution:
http://www.highway.net.au/parts/converters/1865.html

Looks very similar to a JROK, but supports PAL & NTSC, and ships worldwide.
Price is more than I was hoping, but it may be my best option.

They have a range of other convertors to suit other applications... every which way between VGA, RGB, YUV/Component, & SVHS/Composite
