Batman Begins
« on: August 14, 2005, 01:07:42 am »
The other night a friend and I saw Batman Begins.  It's been out for a while.  If you liked the batman's with Micheal Keaton then this one blows the doors of all of the previous remakes.  I was pretty surprised.

Lamest part of the movie was Katie Holmes part.

I thought the Michael Keaton Batman movies were good, but all subqesequent Batman movies sucked. This new one was really good, though.

i found this easily the best batman flick ever made. its a lot more serious and dark, it really makes batman seem a lot more badass than a corny cartoon character. i cant wait for the sequel

I also liked the movie, and also thought Katie Holmes was completely extraneous to the film. They should have grown a pair and just tried to do a superhero movie without a love interest, rather than including an almost non-interest.
Acceptance of Zen philosophy is marred slightly by the nagging thought that if all things are interconnected, then all things must be in some way involved with Pauly Shore.

I liked it as well partly because Christian Bale is much more convincing as Batman than some of the other actors who have played the role. Also, there was less reliance on CGI which left more space for old fashioned things like plot, dialogue, character development etc.

I've nothing against CGI effects but most directors haven't learnt to use them properly yet. Sometimes less is more. (are you reading this Mr Lucas?)

You are right Bale played the part well and Kane was a great Alfred.  I also liked Nealson as Raj and it's always nice to see Gary Oldman.

As for CGI I think you are right that the movie was not built on CGI content and that was refreshing.

Wow, I guess I'll have to see this one.  I liked the Michael Keaton ones a lot, but didn't like the follow-ups, so I was skeptical of this one.  If I'd known that Gary Oldman was in it, I probably would have seen it already.  He rocks.

Before I saw it, I thought it's going to suck, but I was positively surprised.
Its really a great movie.

What about the latest Star Wars?
I am a star wars fan too, but I have to say that allthough the story was great tying all episodes together, most of the digital effects sucked and threw me off the mood to fully enjoy the film.

As a movie I liked Batman in Bikinis better.

Wow.... that is something new.
Never saw someone say that before.

The acting between Ani & Padme sucking... yes... but the effects?
That is a shocking statement.

Considering effects were used in 90+% of the film, do you have specific
effects used in the film you didn't like?
...so I will ask you... "Deal, or No Deal?"
