MK2 Question
« on: August 13, 2005, 12:58:46 am »
Hey whats up,I have jus recently purchased a mortal kombat 2 arcade that was stripped and pretty much left for junk but i've restored some things and finally got it working this evening. Now i've d/l the manual and i have a questin that i'm hoping u guys can help with...how can i get to the begin test switch to adjust the volume, free play option, etc. My manual says theres a switch on the coin door but i must have a defective model cause its not there and it says or i can close switch #8 of dip switch bank #2 (i have no idea what this is) so any help, suggestions or crazy thoughts would be appreciated. Thanx in advance and i love the site, u guys have helped alot in my arcade embarkment over the past couple weeks.

On the PCB to the left of where the jamma harness is attached you will see two red rectangles with many switches on them marked 1-8. The ones furthest to the left are both marked #8, flip the correct #8 switch and you will be in the test menu, you MIGHT have to flip it back when you're done or the game will not start.

Hope that helps.

Oh, you will, if mame has taught us anything about correctly documenting hardware, that is!
(take my word for it, many headaches caused by stupid human error)  Oh well, whats that saying, "to error is human, to really screw up, you need a computer!"
lol, hope i helped, if not, ....
