ZSNES Game Saves
« on: August 12, 2005, 01:34:05 am »
I rebuilt/upgraded my desktop machine recently and somehow have lost the game status for my Super Mario World.

What's the location and filename/ext for where a games status is saved?

Is it the same as "Game Save" via F2?

Fortunately, when I did the upgrade I replaced the HDs so I have the previous HD stored away that should have the files intact.

Not sure why any files that were present on that location did not make it over with the copy as all the other files and folders appear to be present.

I look forward to any and all replies.

.zst files are zsnes save files.  They are stored in the same directory as your roms.  For example, the save state for super mario world would be:

Super Mario World (U) [!].zst

Where the rom is named:

Super Mario World (U) [!].smc

Just copy the zst files to your new hard drive and you should be set.
