Pac Man Coin door face art HELP NEEDED *****
« on: August 11, 2005, 10:01:18 pm »
I downloaded the vectorized Pac-Man Coin Door artwork from the library, but I have a problem.

In Illustrator the image is WAY bigger than it should be when displayed at 100%. I would resize it, but I have no idea what EXACT size it should be.

Does anyone have the coin door face art file available in the correct size?

Thank you!

Don't confuse screen size with print-out size??  It doesn't matter how huge it looks on the monitor, more resolution is generally better.  Once you print it you have to choose how big the print out will be and it will scale accordingly.  Careful not to print it out too small, I've seen repro Pac kickplate artworks that were definitely on the small side, looked bad.

I hear ya, but 100% display is exactly the size it will print out at. I have no idea how to scale it to the exact proper size. I can measure different aspects of the original art, but it will not be EXACT.

Can anyone help me with this?

Thanks,
Craig

If you print it out at monitor resolution it will look really pixelated.  Irfanview is a good free image viewer that prints pretty well IIRC.  Use that with the highest res pic you can get.  Actually.  How are you even printing bigger than 8.5/11" at home?  I don't know how you'd print out good looking sideart/kickplate art at home.  What about Kinkos or the people that sell them online?

You need to make sure your document is set to inches, and the DPI accordingly (200 or higher). Then print.
NO MORE!!
