That's awesome!  What a great collection!  A fun game I used to play that's not on your list is RC Pro Am.  :)

You should go back on ebay and buy a 'nes lot' that has like 50 more games.  ;D

you know you want to!  ;D

I would consider it, however bulk NES game lots that big are not as common in Australia.  There are a few going with about 20 or so games, but most of them I already have.  Oh and the prices people are paying for single carts of some of the popular titles is MAD!!  I saw a Metroid Cart go for $41 Aus (~$32 US) excluding shipping.  That is ludicrous.

Gonna try a few markets on the weekends - you never know what you find at those things  :)
Yeah. NES prices have been driven through the roof by nostalgia. Everyone that had one as a kid is rebuying them, and it's jacked things way up.

I'm not so sure about AUS, but the best bet in the states is still garage sales or flea markets or the like.  eBay has everyone looking for the same thing, and for the most part.. knowing what it is they want.

If you go to a garage sale, you'll find parents selling off their kids old NES games for $1 a pop.  And the good thing is, a great number of "good" games on the NES were so popular, almost everyone had them.

I just got back from buying a couple of games from a second hand game store and I've had my first experience with the blinking screen problem.  :(

I've heard about this before, but never seen the problem myself.  Will a new 72pin connector fix the problem for good?  I was thinking about getting one anyway so the system will last longer.  Anyone here bought one before??  There are stacks of places on the US Ebay selling them, but how do I know who to buy from??  Anyone recommend a place?

A new connector WILL fix the problem for good.
It will also make the Game Genie unusable and you'll need pliers to get your games out.

You could also try cleaning the game contacts and the contacts on the NES.

Sometimes it's just one game that does it.

That being said a 72 pin contact would be a good invest for if not now then later on.
I think some people on here are in the NES Ebay business, may to try the B/S/T forum if you are more comfortable with people here.

IMO, you're better off cleaning the carts, cleaning the deck, and flexing the pins on the existing cart connector back in.

Got a link to any good instructions on doing this??  What is best to use to clean the carts and contacts??  Never mind, found them online.

Okay, cleaned the connector and cleaned the carts.  Flinstones still refuses to work properly - The screen either goes a constant white or it loads but all garbled looking.  Guess I'll try and get hold of a new connector.

The cleaning did make some improvements though on other games!

On the subject of what games to look for:

Final Fantasy!

And then choose Blackbelt Blackbelt Blackbelt and.. Blackbelt as your party...  Win battle, wash rinse repeat, enjoy the endgame. :)

Just so you don't get letdown, it could be that cart is just bad.  It's been a while since I fired up the old NES, but I thought the usual symptom with a connector problem was a blue flashing screen.  The game either loads or doesn't load, but if you are having corruption it could just be a bad cart.  Don't know for sure, but just a thought.

A new connector probably won't fix it anyway.  I have a box of them and I don't think a single one works perfectly with every game.

I'd clean Flintstones again, first.

Not to slur your cleaning efforts, but sometimes you have to go back and re-clean 2 or 3 times before, particularly if you try to do it all with one QTip. I've turned both ends of 3 solid black on one connector before, and still not been done.

Worst I had was a Genesis Ristar cart. Ran through 6 QTps and it STILL wasn't clean. Had to take the cart apart and attack the contacts with a pencil eraser to get it clean enough to work right.
