I love THE ROCK and I like DOOM games, but man-o-man did this movie blow.

Unfortunately I think DOOM the movie, will suck.  THE ROCK was on the Daily Show tonight (recent rerun I think). He brought a movie prop gun, the BFG. John Stewart made a funny at how heavy it was.  John and The Rock aka Duane, both commented on how much they love DOOM and played the original. The segment did not flow too well and it was clear that much of the audience did not know what DOOM - the pc game -  was.   Its gonna be on my netflix list. I'll see it in, 6 months or so.

Too bad that the word on doom is bad.  Was lookin foward to it, trailers looked good, but after further review, I'll put it on my blockbuster list too.  BTW, Shaun of the dead is going to be a cult classic.  I watched it 3 times before I sent it back.  Great movie and I suggest you take a look if you haven't seen it yet.

Shaun of the Dead is an aewsome movie.  I've watched it 2wice and will soon again.  Tonight on, duhhh, either AMC or TCM was Steve Martin's DEAD MEN DON"T WEAR PLAID, and following it was Woody Allen's WHAT"S UP TIGER LILLY -- both good ones on a must-see list.

wow!  I saw the movie opening weekend.  I couldn't stand some of the people in it...but they all die anyway.  I thought parts of it were good, but i'm a total dork.  I thought it was cool that the guy who was in charge of the operation, Dr. Carmack was obviously named after John Carmack, the guy who designed the engine.  The main guy in the movie (who wasn't the Rock) was also called John (as in Romero).  So the guy building the engine and running the game was Dr. Carmack and in my opinion the guy playing and living the game was Romero.  just like in real life.

Everything I know about computers I learned because of Doom.  I do computers for a living, so I felt like I had to go see the movie.  I really enjoyed the fight scene that was all shot in FPS but I never played Doom III, so I felt it was missing SOME of the old Doom elements.

They have the FAST Ms. Pac-Man!  MOM!  Can I have a quarter!??

I ended up seeing it opening day as well...  Didn't think it was really that bad.  Was it great art, destined to go down in cinematic history?  No...  But it was certainly no worse than a lot of other movies out there, and better than many.

My only real complaint is that it was Doom, but the baddies weren't demons.  I haven't played Doom 3, so I don't know what's going on there, but that just struck me as wrong.
