arcade OS loads ok no games will

Hi all,

I have a generic silverline cab with a 25/26 screen in it (an electrohome screen I believe).

I'm using a jpac and from boot get a split screen displayed, then load the VGA prog in the autoexec so I can see the dos screen. ARcade OS loads up ok but no games seem to be able to display. Some I get a 4 way shot of them (screen divided into 4 identical portions) where you can just about see the game, the others just a rolling mess.

I have run advv -advmamev and adcfg -advmamec

Unfortunately I dont know the specifications of the monitor. So #i choose generic 15hrz screen and go through the modes. I cant actually display any of the test screens except the standard VGA modes.

I am using an on board SIS graphics chip..is it simply that the graphics chip wont work correctly with advance mame..?

Any help greatly appreciated. Thanks
Rolf
