My Gorf Sucks (edited)
« on: August 07, 2005, 02:24:45 pm »
this afternoon been trying to various boardset which
were untested in my working (well sort of - see below)
gorf cabaret machine simply replacing the working
boards with untested ones and checking if the game
still worked...identified a rom board that might be
bad.

everything was going well until i swapped the working
Game Board for an untested one. it didnt work so i
plugeed back in the working one - but now that is not
working either!

after a lot of unplugging and plugged trying to ensure
the PCBs are seated corredly in the cage no joy :(

would unplugging the game board have damaged it?

when i say the machine was working it does not have
any sound there is was a blown fuse in the PSU block
but game plays ok. I tried replacing the fuse but it
blew immediately when machine is turned on. i tried
again this time the fuse did not blow but something
started to smoke on the sound amp board and then the
fuse blew :(

i think it was due to something in the sound board
because when i unplugged the sound amp board and
replaced the fuse it did not blow.

any one have a spare sound amp board for a gorf/wow
machine? :)

would a fault in the sound board make the fuse blow or
could there be something more serious going on somewhere?
