Mamewah, removing clones??

I knw in Mame32 if you go to View>Custom Filters, you can select so in the mame list it doesnt show clone games, non woring games etc. Can you so the same thing in Mamewah, so the list of games doesnt show clones and non working games??

By default, "Player 2 start > Game List Options > Generate Filtered List > Display Clones: No"

Ive tried that, but when i have Generate Filtered List highlighted and press player 1 start, nothing happens

What is player 1 start assigned to? To move through the Mamewah config menu, 1 is "Enter" and 2 is "Escape". Try using a keyboard to navigate. If it works, then you have an assignment issue.

yeah 1 Start is enter still on my setup, as i use it to start games up. just that wgen i have Generate Filtered list highlighted and press 1 Start nothing happens?

You can't use the main list to generate a custom list.  If you want a list with no clones, make a new ini file like mame-2.ini (or whatever the next number is for your setup), and set the clones setting to 0.

Open up mamewah, select your No Clones game list (or whatever you named it in the .ini file) and hit generate list.

No more clones

Ok could you show me an example of the said ini file, as i used mamewahconfig program to set mamewah up, and not too sure about this ini file?

If your main game ini file is mame.ini created two empty files and place them in the ini folder. Name one mame-0.ini and the second mame-1.ini. MameWAH will populate them for you it just needs a place to store it's settings. The settings for the default list will be stored in mame-0.ini and the custom list settings will be stored in mame-1.ini. After mame populates it you can open it up in a text editor and change the title. It's the "list_title" setting. You can do this to create as many custom lists as you like. Here is an example of a populated file.

mame-0.ini will look a bit different than the others.  For your no clone list you'll have to use mame-1.ini (or any other number besides 0).

It will look like this:

Ok ive made an ini file name 0000-2, and now i can select No Clones from the Select Games list, but when i do it hasnt removed any of the roms from the list, theres still the same amount of rom as there is with the normal list??

If you actually names it "0000-2" it wont do a damn thing. It has to be named after the emulator so Mamewah knows what to associate it with, i.e. "mame-#".

Just make a file named mame-2.ini and copy my exact .ini file.

This should not be this hard.

That doesnt work for some reason Mamewahconfig program names the ini files as 0000.ini, 0000-1.ini and so

Follow these steps to get no clones:

1.  Add a gamelist to mamewah config under MAME or whatever you named it
2.  OPen mamewah to the platform with your gamelist
3.  Select your gamelist
4.  Goto gamelist options
5.  Select generate filtered list
6.  Select no clones
7.  Exit and you should have a no clone list

Hopefully this is what you are looking for.

NOTE:  Make sure that you generate your default list in mamewah config using "Rom folder and -listxml"
