Is there a program that can cut down on the amount of mame roms shown in Mamewah, for instance just showing 1 copy of each game, rather than 3 or 5 different copies of the same game, to add in not having such a long list??

The easy way is to turn off clone display.

If you want Pacman without all the other gazillion clones of Puckman, you can try Screaming's ListGen.net program, based on my ListGen utility. If you are familiar with command line program, you can try ListGen by itself.
