PAYPAL is the new MICROSOFT!!!
« on: July 31, 2005, 09:48:36 pm »
i need some advice about paypal. they are ubiquitous, but like microsoft- their help section is useless! i find their layout not very user friendly. the question is this:

i have just received email notification that ive been paid through paypal for someitems i sold on ebay. but when i go to paypal it doesnt show any payments. ive upgraded it to 'premium' guessing that is what i am supposed to do to get the payments. but i cant discern anything. so wheres the money? SHOW ME THE MONEY!

as i said above, they really blow when it comes to designing a simple easy layout. ebay too, but ive got em figured now! its annoying because the buyers have paid in good faith and now im gonna have to send the items wondering where my money is...

fwiw i recently did a transaction with them...the seller said he sent an invoice but it never went through even though his account showed it as pending. so i had to manually send money instead of paying the invoice. he got it ok though.

maybe they are having database problems...which isnt a very encouraging thought :-X

Could also be processing time - I had a similar situation, and the money just took a couple of days to hit my account. After that I had to manually transfer the money from paypal to my checking account...

Good luck!

well, heres the response:

Thank you for contacting PayPal.

If you have received an email notification stating that a payment has
been
sent to your PayPal Account, but the transaction has not posted to your
History Log, the sender may have entered an incorrect email address.

If the email address they have entered is not an exact match, the funds
will not be posted to your account, however, your email service
provider
may be able to detect this slight difference and route the email
notification to your email account.

In this case, we recommend that you contact the sender and confirm that
the
payment has been sent and to exactly which address. Often, concern over
a
payment results from a miscommunication between the sender and
recipient,
and it is easily resolved by asking the sender to check his History Log
to
confirm that a payment has been sent.
Please let me know if you need further assistance.

Sincerely,
Wendy

my only thought is that they 'see' two accounts because ive recently changed the email address the notification goes to, but not the paypal account address. anyway, ive told her that in a reply. well see if i cant get my steenkin money...
