OK, for each of these leaders that won an election, can you show the losing candidate did NOT belong to any of these groups?

While this doesn't exactly answer your question, I think this book does a splendid job explaining our country.  It is available for free online too!

I think most often each candidate belongs to these kooky groups.  I read that both Bush and Kerry did.

Yeah, Bush and Kerry are both in Skull and Bones, right?

  • Dont let Donkey Kong use your toilet.......
All that means is that we need to get serious about who controls our lives. Its time to pool our resources and nominate someone from this forum to infiltrate one of the 3 said groups and become a world leader. Then we change international laws to make kicking the sh!t out of Dave Foley and all other "non believers" completely legal.

I read through some of the reviews and it's interesting to find that the author references the same people/families as are on the lists of these groups.

But we can't get in those societies unless we were already in it...

It's strange when you think about it.  If you're in, your chances of holding a political office or being appointed to a position within the government would be very good.  If you're not in, your chances are very very low.

Since you can't get in without an invitation, the general public has virtually no chance at influencing what happens in government.  This reminds me of that Simpsons episode...

Let us all join together on a united front and work to place me into one of these groups.  I'll run on M3talhead's platform. ;)

I want to be appointed to a government office dammit.

Hmm, I thought this would be a popular topic... maybe because it's neither democrat or republican?   ;)

I am in a secret society that sacrifices chickens (I can't say the name)

I now appoint you governor of your state.  Go in through the back door and ignore the body in the sheet.

You must ignore the body, okay?

What body? ;)

The "political folk" among us should read through the CFR newletter "Foriegn Affairs".  It's good bits of information:
http://www.foreignaffairs.org/

The most interesting I've found (not trying to turn this into a debate) is the comments on the exit strategy for Iraq:
"In Iraq as with other interventions, what policymakers should focus on is not developing exit strategies but articulating precise U.S. interests and figuring out how to advance them."

Also referenced was a 1998 article regarding Bosnia - very good reading if you want to know when the CFR thinks troops should come home:
