Tutankham Sideart - help needed cleaning up!
« on: July 26, 2005, 04:13:28 am »
Hey folks!

I've just scanned Tut's cool sword side-art for a deal/pal!

here's a thumbnail:

Cool hey? Problem is, here's a close-up:

Yeah, the whole pictures pretty much made of dots! :( My vectoring skills in AI don't do dots. Whats best for this? Is this a photoshop guru to uniform the colours.
Or steamline to vector it (post colour-uniforming)?

Its bloody huge (I did a 600DPI scan in case no editting could be done), so its unfeasible to upload it to the public as "unclean" in its current form.

Lastly, I definitely need some budding photoshopper ot help out. If you look closely at the barbs on the bottom of the sword, they have "drooped" and actually created creases in my artwork :(

Basically, if I supply someone with the scan from that area, at a minimum would some kind soul be able to straighten/edit out the ripples?

Thanks in advance - Ravster

PS, Pengo and commando sideart scans are in the pipeline now ;)

Cummon guys.... I need help here...

Heres a thumbnail of the problem:

A you can see I really could do with a photoshop guru (and I see people on this list are Jedi's at that!) to help correct the bends and wrinkles! :)

If you can help drop me an email if you can help I can upload the scan in question
Regards
Rav

Sorry I can't be a photoshop helper, but gave it a quick clean-up in MSPaint without too much trouble.  After summerschool ends(in two weeks)  I may be able to spend a little more time on your sideart with Paint if you're interested.
It doesn't matter if you win or lose....it's how you play the videogame.

Have you used Photoshops NOISE filters? Try DUST & SCRATCHES and play around with the RADIUS and THRESHOLD settings to get rid of some the problems......

Does that help?
