"Naruto" - The greatest show I never watched
« on: July 24, 2005, 11:08:58 pm »
I walked into my roommates room to find him watching this show called "Naruto" on his pc. He said it is pretty excellent. I saw that it was anime, and I don't like anime...at all, not my style. I was bored though, he burned my girlfriend and I the first 25 episodes. We popped the dvd in our modded xbox and never stopped. We watched the whole 1st season in one night! It's such a great show...funny, sad, action packed. The characters are very memoriable and loveable. Everyone can relate to one of the characters somehow. So if you have an open mind, give this show a chance, it's really good. Check out www.boxtorrents.com, you can find the seasons there.

yeah ive heard naruto is good, but only from anime fanboys i never believe them. But ill have to check it out.

You know whats a good anime like that, is Neon Genesis Evangelion, ive gotten friends that dont like anime to sit and just watch 2 eps, and theyre hooked hardcore. We ended up having a marathon and watching the entire series (20 something eps, and the ending movie) in a row one night. Its THAT good, i highly recommend it

I don't know how you can't fall in love with the characters, maybe you should give it another go ;). I will say I think there is too many backstories and talking in the show at times. I suppose the writers don't want to leave any parts out, EVERYTHING is explained, can be a pain sometimes, but I usually like it. This is also coming from someone who is not an anime fan, so this is a very unbiased opinion. Also a message to some of you dorks out there, stop wearing shirts like the one pictured below. Yea, you know which one I'm talking about...the short sleeve silk anime shirt with all the japanese wrting and fireballs you can shake a stick at. For the love of god stop wearing it.

Ok Stellarola, I bow down...

When I first started to watch the series, I thought "Meh, it's ok, but nothing special"...

Now I'm at the end of Season 1 - Episode 19 and... well.... The show rocks.

Thanks for the heads up, I now have marathon TV for the next week straight.

I guess I should revisit it and watch more than the first 3 episodes...
