Help diagnosing Monitor Problem

I picked up a Supersprint game and it is sort of working.  The monitor looks really dark.  One strange thing is that the RED cars look almost black.  The blue car looks sort of blue and the yellow car looks like dark yellow.  If only the red color output was not working is this the symptoms that you would observe?  How could I test the red out from the board for sure?
