MOD Chip? Which is best?
« on: July 20, 2005, 10:33:50 am »
Hey guys,  need your feedback on the mod chips available for the ps2.  I am going to purchase one but there are so many out there. Plus so many sites that sell them.  So I wanted to get feedback from you guys to see which ones are the best for the best value.  I know there are solderless ones but seems too easy there has to be a catch.  Any feedback good or bad would help me.

thanks

HDAdvance is just if you are wanting to install the exploit yourself.

That tutorial is great.  I've reached the final step, used the ps1 game to trigger the exploit, but now what do I do?  How do I get key launcher to boot up everytime w/o using the ps1 game?

Thanks!

You need the PS1 disc in the tray for the exploit to boot, thats how the exploit works. The only way to boot from memory card without a PS1 game in the tray would be with a mod-chip. Why not just leave the PS1 disc in there?

hmmm I see, so I do exploit then boot with a Ps1 disc. Do I still need to force open the tray for it to work?? or just press eject to open it??

just press eject.  No need to force it open.  If you are useing a back up disc to load the game to the hard drive then just load it onto your hard drive useing WinHiip through your PC instead of useing the playstation.  In fact it is recomended to load all of your games onto the hard drive through your PC because it is both faster and puts less wear on your PS2's laser then useing HDLoader does.

And putting games on the HD via your PC will let you play imports.
