Isolating Transformer problem..

I recently purchased an XMEN: Children of the Atom arcade machine at a local auction (it's actually a converted WWF wrestling arcade).

It has a Wells Gardner 7000 series 25" monitor.  I'm in the process of converting it to a mame cabinet.  I've come across some info on the web on how to get the power to the monitor without using the original power supply (fuse -> power filter -> isolating transformer -> monitor) since I will not be using the JAMMA board and don't want to just fry a good power supply with 0 load on it.

The problem I ran into is that the original isolating transformer has 2 outputs (0V and 110V 60hz) but 3 inputs! (0V, 110V 60hz, and E)  What the heck is "E" ?!?

And will any isolating transformer with just 2 inputs / 2 outputs work great as a replacement?

   You need an Isolating Transformer! Download and read the WG-K7000 manual. http://www.mikesarcade.com/arcade/monitors.html
Has Wells-Gardner manuals. You can skip the power supply, but not the Isolation Transformer. If you do you will be lucky to just ruin your monitor, Before it Electricutes You     The "E" wire means Earth as in grounded outlet with the top center pin actually making a connection to the ground rod of your home wiring.

What I did on my NBA Jam, was leave the power supply alone (it still powers the monitor and boards so no load problem).  I then have my setup run directly to the monitor and I replaced the control panel with my own wired controls.  Its perfect as when the original bpards powers up, you need to press a button to get past the diag screen, so there is no sound out the speakers (since the jamma control panel is disconnected).  I then wired my sound to the sound board (soldered to some undocumetned auxilary input points) and got sound working without having to add anything!
