Mame, screen alignment, sound jitter
« on: July 18, 2005, 10:20:40 pm »
Hi,

I use GameEx and Mame32 with a couple of other emus as well for consoles etc.

Anyways sometimes when loading a game the screen pushes tothe left hand side and doesnt align in the center, which means at times part of the game is cut off, any ideas?

Also in some games the sound is jittery and skips or repeats itself.

My machine is

PIII 500Mhz, 500MB Ram, 40GB fireball HD, 16MB tnt 2

Any ideas?

cheers

Minwah

Adjust your monitor to fix the screen centering...

Get a new pc to fix your sound problem!

Sorry, what I mean is your PC is probably having trouble coping.  Lower the sound sample rate and disable anything like triple buffer, vsync etc. that might improve performance.

screen shifting to the right -I had the same problem with mame32 and windows xp

Right mouse click on the game and select properties.  Uncheck Direct 3D (Direct 3d tab) and uncheck Use direct draw (advanced tab)

You should almost never turn off DirectDraw...I would not agree with that recommendation.
