i've been trying to use avres and mame resolution tool w/ mame .37 - .55, but they don't seem to work.
does anyone know the oldest version of mame that still works w/ these two auto resolution programs? thanks.

In my Resolution Tool you need to tick 'Legacy MAME' in the file menu.
