Me too, for my money its Wavebird or nothing.  Nintendo makes the best wireless controller by far for the Gamecube... no questions asked.

WaveBird is excellent, but it has no rumble if i remember correctly.

So if you can live without Rumble, nothing beats the wavebird.

I've only bought 4 games for my 'cube....   plus a minor assortment of GB and GBA games I use through the player...  so, really no major need for wireles gamepads...

Don't be silly, you can't get TV's with a wired remote anymore ;)

I see your point.  I dunno, I just think console pads should be wired.  I think people invent over-engineered gimmicks just for the sake of it sometimes.  Also, what happens if your batteries run out at a crucial point of a game?  That's gotta be annoying.

I don't have my Cube anywhere near where i sit, it's nice to not have to move the console on the ground to reach it.

Don't forget about people walking by pulling wires out of the socket and resetting the game.

I spent 2$ on a controller extension cord, just like I did for the Playstation.

Xbox controller cords are like ten feet long, and they don't reach my sofa and I live in a pretty small apartment.  My Gamecube controllers have even shorter cords.  Trust me, once you've switched to wireless controllers you won't go back.  They're just incredibly convenient.

Well with two dogs and three kids you can forget using a cord I have had paddles ripped from my hands many times. I tried a Wavebird and it was so nice I got a set of 4! I have never used a wireless controller that worded as well as a wavebird. Makes you wish sony would make a nice one also! Go for the wavebird you wont regret it!

The Microcon controllers for Xbox are my favorite Xbox controllers.  The wireless Microcons are $20 at Walmart while the official Xbox Controller-S is $25 or $30.  What a bargain.

No, my consoles are across the room next to the TV.  Couch is further away than the length of the cord.  Infact, I have to put the gamecube half way from the TV to couch on the floor in order to play.

Plus with today's IC-3 batteries why complain.  They charge in 15 minutes and have a high mAh (meaning they last a long time).  All of my electronics that heavily use batteries use these now.  My digicam lasts twice as long as it use to.  My R/C car can go about 3 minutes longer than normal NiMHs.

Wavebirds only go for $8-$15 on ebay.

Or chewed on.  While playing Champions of Norath with a friend his dog took a bite of the cord and we could no longer continue :(

I'm looking for the convenience factor.  I could leave the controllers in the side table and not have a cord running across the living room.

I don't consider controllers a viable item to buy used.  If it worked well and was in decent condition, it would not be sold.  I've been burned too many times buying used controllers in the past.  Hell, I once bought a used controller at Gamestop that was EMPTY when I opened the package.

You assume all auctions are for used equipment...

Plus, if it worked well and was in decent shape it could be sold.  I hav ea madcatz controller that is used for my gamecube.  Someone might not have found it comfortable or not like the rubber on the controller.

There's an old saying on BYOAC -- I know it's in IGN, it's probably in BYOAC -- that says, "Fool me once, shame on...shame on you.  It fool me.  We can't get fooled 17 times.

Buyers of controllers must not be fooled.

Okay, I had 2 wireless controllers for xbox that were made by Pelican.  They worked perfectly for 6 weeks.  Then they started to lose the signal while I was playing.  I would have to get up, unplug the part that plugs into the xbox and then plug it in again.  It went a couple of months doing that every now and then so I delt with it.  Then it started doing it all the time.  So I chucked em.  It soured me on wireless controllers, but they were incredible while they worked.

I will probably pick up a wavebird since everyone here has had a reliable experience with them.  Can you guys reccomend something for xbox and ps2 that is just as reliable?  Also does Pelican suck or did I just get unlucky?
