Mame and Component Connection
« on: July 12, 2005, 11:44:55 pm »
I have heard that component video is better then s-video which is a no brainer, but does it make that much difference with mame. Everyone says it does but clams not to have seen mame through component first hand. Does anyone out there have their computer hooked to the tv through component. Is it that much better then s-video?
Hello, 911? It's Quagmire. Yeah, it's caught in the window this time.

It varies.

I tried component vs composite vs s-video from an Xbox to my 27" Panasonic TV.  The difference between component and s-vid was that the colors were a little more vibrant using component.  Other than that, picture quality was pretty much identical.

Change the Xbox to a PC, and the TV to something of higher quality, and it's very possible that there will be an even bigger difference.  I'd definitely go for component if it's not going to break the bank.
