  • I want to build my own arcade controls!
wg 4600 series
« on: July 12, 2005, 06:44:25 pm »
I just picked up a wells gardner 4655 monitor.  The colors are crisp and bright but I can not  get it to sync properly. I have set the horizontal hold to center and adjusted the square red adjustment on the vertical pc board to no avail.  I also have 2 sets of vertical boards one with a jumper on c315 the other without.  The one with the jumper gets the closest to syncing.  I have looked at the pdf and it appears that there is a jumper on one of the 3 prong inputs next to vr602.  My chassis does not have this.  Am I missing a wire and if so what does it connect to?  Could cold or broken solder joints for the vertical boards cause this behavior?  Any help would be appreciated as this is driving me crazy.

The numbering on my board for what the games pcb wiring connects to is p317.

The color codes are as follows
pin 1  =  violet/red
pin 2  =  violet/green
pin 3  =  violet/blue
pin 4  =  ground
pins 5 & 6 are violet

Nothing to pins 1,2 & 3 for negative sync

Thanks...

Most games made today use negative sync.

Cap kit and cold solder joints are always things to check.  Esp the first if it hasn't been done.

Just a follow-up on the monitor issue.  Swapped with a known good PCB and monitor is perfect.  Guess i will troubleshoot the original PCB.
