Help with Connecting PC to TV?
« on: July 11, 2005, 04:28:44 pm »
Hi
Ok I may be an idiot here.. just need something clarified. I have a home gym and I am planning on installing a tv connected to my PC. I want to be able to play Cable TV, MP3, DVD, AVI etc from PC onto the TV. I know ATI makes all kind of cards to play stuff on a COMPUTER but do they have tv out on the cards? also the big thing is I want to be able to use a remote to change channels. (they do that) but what about run applications ?? can the remotes do that? so i could set up a jukebox on the computer on the tv???? any suggestions on products??
Life is like a video game, a good one never dies..

An ATI All-In-Wonder (AIW) card will have TV input and output. Some AIW cards include remotes. These should be able to be used for stuff above and beyond just controlling TV functions.

There of many different models of AIW cards based on different ATI chips. You probably don't need the newest. Something like the 8500 AIW should do eveything you want and more. If it doesn't come with a remote, you should be able to buy a compatible ATI remote seperately online.
