Cocktail underlay design contest
« on: July 11, 2005, 02:42:24 pm »
I've been working on my midway-style cocktail project for a while now (project announcement coming soon...) and I've come to the point where I need to be thinking about about the underglass artwork. Unfortunately my artwork and typographic skills are next to none so I thought I'd turn to the community and see if somebody would be willing to help.

The name of my cocktail (provided by my 3-year-old in honor of his favorite Discovery Channel show) is:

Mega-Machine

I'm looking for a cool logo-treatment for the name that works against a black background and possibly an overall cocktail underlay design to go with it. Classic arcade and not-busy are the two themes I think about when thinking of the overall underlay design.

If anyone comes up with something I use, in exchange I'll give the winning selection their choice between a very rare Tron Cocktail Trigger Stick balltop joystick or 3" Happs Trackball (with translucent ball).

Reply here with ideas if you are interested.

Thanks!
-james

As for styles. Think Tonka meets Pac-Man, but classy (yea, I know, I'm useless... I'll try to get crisper as we go along)

You've got a name, but do you have any graphical elements you'd like to include? Any particular shapes or pictures you'de like to see in there? Do you want arcade characters or do you want something more generic?

Not bad! Here's a thought, perhaps someone could try taking the name and applying a Space Invader style to it (similar to this underlay, but with Mega Machine instead of Space Invaders):

Obviously it doesn't have to say "millercentral's"  I can do some sort of design for the corners ala space invaders as well... any ideas on what you'd like?

Pixel check this out http://www.bishopzone.com/bishopzone/projects/tron.html. Thats the VERY rare stick that I think he is talking about. It is an awsome stick for a tron bar top project!

Just out of curiosity is that template the exact dimension for your table? IE do the curved areas line up precisely,etc....

That template certainly won't suit my needs after all. I need a Ms Pacman template.
