Standard res game on a med res monitor?
« on: July 11, 2005, 11:03:03 am »
I have a 27" neotec monitor (model 27E, does anyone happen to have a scan of a manual, or know where I can get one?) that is med res...right now I have a voodoo 3 card and mon-arc to get things up and running arcadeos, but I haven't tried out any games yet as I don't want to take the chance that it will go into standard res and damage the monitor. Will this happen? Also, is there any way to run a standard res arcade board on this? Is there some sort of convertor I can get to do this?

Thanks
Dave

As far as a manual goes, you might try contacting Happ Controls.  They still stock the 27in. Med-res Neotec's.

If you run a standard res input on a med res monitor, you get a double image and the picture may not sync at all. I've never seen this hurt the monitor, but I've never done it for long.

Best,
