1. Please tell me that monitor has a built-in isolation transformer.
2. Hot glue?!?!?
3. Remove the hot glue (with the monitor off and the cab unplugged from the wall) as it's not going to hold the connection together, I'm surprised it hasn't been pulled apart by the weight of the cable already.
4. Radio Shack should have connectors to mate with the plugs on your monitor, look around where they have the molex connectors. If they don't have exactly what you need, a molex might fit.

it has built in isolation transfer.

SO, the problem is the power right?

radio shack didnt have such thing.this blinking happens more when i am running dreamcast..its little bit less when i am running in windows.

also,I only hooked up horizontal composite signal from the monitor to the scan converter's sync connection.
Should i splice both vertical sync and horizontal sync then hook it up to scan converter's sync? ???

thanks for reply tom61 and if you can try to answer any of the above..thanks again ::).

I'm not sure if the power is positively the current problem, but hot glue would probably end up a problem in the future. Buy a female Molex connector from Rat Shack, if that doesn't fit, just use the inside connectors by themselves.

If your scan converter has composite out, using that should be fine. Are you using a J-Pac to amplify the signal? (that might help if you aren't using one)

Also, don't run your Dreamcast through the scan converter, disabling a pin in the VGA box will make it output the 15kHz signal needed for arcade monitor use. http://www.gamesx.com has the pinout for the Dreamcast A/V connector, use it to determine the pin to put it in VGA mode, trace that wire into the VGA box, and cut it.

yeah..but it looks really nice using vga box..if you try running 15 khz...does it look worse then how it is now? ???

Also,is there any risk if i splice horizontal composite and vertical sync together from the monitor then that mixed wires goes to scan converters sync output ????

I didnt do it yet to make sure i dont  do anything funny..thanks for replying again ::).

I was having similair problems with mine and I have it mostly fixed. It seemed to be the power supply I was using was causing interference. My converter didn't come with a power supply so I had to use an old computer one. Yesterday I went into it and ripped out the fan, switch and all of the wires I didn't use, now the picture is 100% better.

like the power supply for the scan converter?
its an odd looking one though.there is a 4 pin connecter that look like a huge mouse connecter and there is this square power supply thing where a regular ac cord goes.

any idea?

which converter you have?
any pic of the power supply and what exactly you did to fix this?
thanks for the reply. :)
