T-molding surprise
« on: July 08, 2005, 06:33:43 am »
Ok, where to start...

Back in March, I ordered some polished brass t-molding from Happ electronics.  I got myself royally screwed by having it delivered next day (shipping was outrageous), and when it arrived it looked like someone had taken a knife and scratched up every square inch of it - I was livid!!  I immediately wrote Happ and they very graciously gave me a small refund....which I would find out this past weekend they didn't have to do.

Flash forward to this past Sunday.  Remember how I've told you my 2 1/2 year old likes licking her Daddy's cabinet? Well, she also likes stickers.

I'm not sure how this corner got free...I don't know if she had been licking it and it came loose, or if it was just free...BUT I suddenly looked up from the other side of the cabinet to see my child pulling what I thought was the top layer of t-molding OFF MY CABINET!  I nearly went ballistic...until my wife and I realized that the scuffed part was actually a sticky protective coating they'd put on the t-molding to keep it from damage!

We had a good laugh and I immediately wrote Happ and told them of the situation, and offered to return the refund that I had asked for back in March, as obviously the product was not damaged as I initially thought.  They won't take it back; said they appreciated my honesty, but it was not necessary for me to write them a check.

SOOOOOOOOO.....we have beautiful polished brass t-molding encircling the control panel now.  The moral of this story is: never underestimate the power of the toddler.

LOL, that's awesome.  :)  It's a good thing you went ahead and installed the t-molding anyway.  Got any pics?   ;D

I PM'd you - but no pics of the kid pulling the sticker off, sadly to say.  Wish I had thought of it...but at the time, I was looking at her like "I'm going to kill you!" and she was looking at me like "What? why? It's a sticker Daddy, can't you see that?"   ;D
