Hey, if it ever becomes an issue, I'll just move back to Canada. It's still possible there to overthrow the military if necessary, just wait until he gets off at 5pm and get him in the parking lot.

yes, in so much as all that happened was different types of despots came into power, thus acheiving exactly zip for afghanistan during that time (if you actually wanted to help afghan people). if it was just training for soviet and american agents then i guess both the US and USSR gained some valuable experience from it. as well if you didn't go you might still have the world trade center. the world isnt a game of chess where you can see 10 moves ahead. when countries assume that and try on the machiavellian hat in the end they havent even seen ONE move ahead...
