replacing 29" betson tube
« on: July 03, 2005, 03:23:22 pm »

I know some folks who managed to shatter the tube on a 29" Betson... how hard is it to find a suitable replacement tube?  They called Betson and were given some line about the tubes being unique.  The only thing I can think of that could be the issue would be if it has a unique neck connector, but is that the case here?  Or did Betson hose them?

Where have you herd stories of people shattering their betson imperial tubes!?  The reason its somewhat unique is because its a low/med/high resolution tube.  I've never seen someone offering this type of tube alone...usuaully better to just buy a complete monitor, and sell off your PCB to someone who maybe screwed one up.

How do you shatter a tube? Drop it off a building? Do you mean the neck?

No, they moved it in a van without securing it, it moved around, and was shattered by a sudden stop.
