Happy Canada Day!
« on: July 01, 2005, 08:22:55 am »
I just noticed that my calender says it's Canada Day.
Does this mean that I should be at home watching hockey and drinking Molsen?

Seriously though, what do Canadians do today? Are there parades?

What do you do on July 4th?

I've only been living in the US for 4 years (it'll be 4 years on July 13th), and this will be the third time I've been here for the 4th of July. The last two times I was here for the 4th, I ended up doing a pub-crawl; but I was supposed to be at peoples barbeques and watching fireworks.
I wasn't trying to be a smart-ass, just wondering what you do up there.

I would rather be living in Canada, with the current administration in the US the way it is.

That has nothing to do with the fallen troops. I support the troops, I dont support the war and I dont support Bush, Cheney, and Rumsfeld. And I cant pack my bags and go, I'm a minor

I would live here happily it there were a more open-minded, less war hungry administration in place

Whats patriotic about what he said? The fact that he doesnt agree with the current administration?

I dont like what they are doing either, but i dont hate on americans.

I support the troops because it takes alot of heart and alot of guts to go there and fight.

You should come to Canada though if you like beer. Seriously. When i go down to the states. i smuggle in some two-fours of Keiths :)

Dosent that pretty much come straight from the mouth of Dick Cheney? I hated him even more when he said that.

How effing bored and insensitive are you that you can't simply wish Canadians here "Happy Canada Day, eh!"

Is calling you "insensitive" hurting your feelings or cheesing you off?  Good.  Go crap in someone else's punchbowl, you knobs.  This WASN'T the thread for it.

Well Canada Day has ended here in Boston, hopefully some of you out there enjoyed it; other than the note on my day-by-day calender I wouldn't have known it even existed. Next year maybe I'll head to Montreal and see what I'm missing.

I think you'll find Montreal a little more exciting on Canada Day than Boston.  But if you're thinking about going, make sure you're there for Baptiste Day on June 24th.  That's when the real partying goes on in Montreal.
