ok, i got another chain letter in the mail which my sister forwarded to me. i thought id do the same thing i did last time:

http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php/topic,24626.0.html

so i spent a bit of time making another ten buck note to send to him. the first name on the list of recipients was j.brown which of course will be the scammers address to collect the cash. hence the look of my note. i was going to send it with a short letter signed michael jackson thanking him for this opportunity and that i have some friends ion comsumer affairs who are also a bit short and so i would forward his letter to them. when it came time to post of his 'reward' i realised i had already forwarded the original he had sent me off to consumer affairs and i couldnt remember the scammers address!

bugger.

I always wondered about the intelligence of people who participate in these...

First of all, you have to realize that the money comes from somewhere....

Second of all, if people are going to be sending these random addresses money, wherever it says in the letter to send them, why would you leave other people's addresses? I'd replace the address with my own, and send the letter out.

Also, no one "checks" to see if you sent money. Why not just mail out the retarded letter without sending money?

In closing, it fully irritates me on how simple and retarded this scam is. Seriously. If I want to send out 6 million chain letters... why should I pay for the right?

Well, let me be the first to volunteer for such a large project.  I await your small donation to cover postage and handling in order to more easily facilitate your financial ascension.  I will send you the address you can send the envelope stuffed with cash to shortly. :police:

hehe. thats why in some states in australia its up to a 23,000 fine for participating. this is because most of the letters people will receive are from the scammer- very few would be from people who really thought they joining in. so the scammer is hoping you will spend (in this case) about $200 in postage to send out letters to others just so HE can get ten bucks off you! theres a term for that and i cant think of it at the moment. but its to do with how willing the crook is to forfeit one amount to get another. for instance, if you steal a car just for the stereo. youve forfeited someone elses car (say $20000) to gain for yourself $100...
