Worst idea Ever

Someone ,in their infinite wisdom thought it would be a good idea to take an ATM machine and a Pharmacy and combine the two...

One of the first drug-dispensing machines, called ScriptCenter, was installed in December at a Longs Drug Stores location in Del Mar, Calif. ScriptCenters are also on their way to an Ahold Giant Food store in Reston, Va., and a Safeway Inc. Vons supermarket in Southern California. Asteres Inc., the closely held Del Mar company that developed the ScriptCenter, says it is discussing sales and leasing deals with a number of large drugstore chains around the country.

I'd have to imagine that things like oxycontin are not going to be in there, along with a big sign that indicates that fact.  Hell, most pharmacies here won't carry oxycontin anymore because they got robbed twice a week for it.

Yeah, I expect it will be mostly for things like antibiotics. I can't imagine that any drugs that have high abuse potential will be in there.

Stay away from those hookers and you won't need so much amoxycillin.

What a horrible idea. Just wait until the unit accidentally supplies penicillin to a patient who is allergic. Hope that company has some seriously good insurance and a solid legal team.

And I can't imagine that any controlled substances could possibly be stocked in the thing. The paperwork my wife has to go through just dealing with them at the hospital she works at is pretty outrageous. Most of them have to be tracked / inventoried daily, and require hand written sign offs (no computer generated signatures) on all the paperwork.
