Maybe I missed it in your post, but I don't think you mentioned what was wrong.  Are the games not launching?  Just from looking at your .ini you should get rid of the nosafelaunch caption.  I just finished setting up vp in mamewah so I messed with it quite a bit.

Yeah...the tables aren't launching when I use Mamewah or the vp-launch4.exe

When I run the vp-launch4.exe, i get to the test screen with all of the tables....but when I double-click a table to launch, I don't get past the Winners Don't DO Drugs" splash screen...

I also took out the nosafelaunch from everywhere in the .ini

man, this is frustrating...

Ok I thought it was working directly from vp-launch4.  First make sure you have the folder vplcfgs in your tables folder along with vp-launch4.  This should also have a default.ini in it.  If you do try alt-tab when it's on the splash screen to see whether vpmame isn't launching or if it isn't grabbing focus.

I just went through setting this up myself.

Try deleting everything and install the pinball stuff again from scratch. Follow the directions I've posted for you, and remember there is a new VBS file out it's up to version 3.22.1

Make sure you do exactly as the instructions say.

Let me know how it goes...if you get it to work with just the wrapper....getting it to work with MAMEWAH is a snap. :)

Visual Pinball/pinmame/MameWAH installation and setup instructions.

All the files you need can be downloaded from http://irpinball.ztnet.com/. Click on the downloads link at the top. Scroll down to the "Essential Files" section and download the following files:

Visual Pinball 6.1 Full Install
Visual Pinmame
VBS Scripts

Now create a folder called "pinball". We will use the "C" drive as an example. So you should have a folder, c:\pinball. Inside of c:\pinball create a folder called pinmame. Now you should have a folder c:\pinball\pinmame. Extract the first file you downloaded, Visual Pinball 6.1 Full Install, to a temporary folder. After they are extracted, run setup.exe. When you are ask for an installation folder, select c:\pinball. You can now delete the files you extracted to the temporary folder. Now extract the second file you downloaded, Visual Pinmame, to the folder, c:\pinball\pinmame. After the files are extracted run setup.exe. Accept the default paths. When the "Default Options" dialog box appears check the option "Skip Pinball Startup Test". Complete the rest of the prompts. Now, extract the third downloaded file, VBS Scripts, to the folder, c:\pinball\tables. That's it. All the PROGRAM files are ready to go. Now we need some tables and/or roms to play.
There are two types of tables. The first type are Recreations. These are original tables that were produced from 1940 until about 2000 by companies like Ballys, Williams, Stern and others. These tables require two files to play, a Table file and the associated ROM file. Actually, a few don't require a ROM file. The second type of tables are "Home Brews" or user designed. These do not require a ROM file, just a Table file. There are just over 500 Recreated Tables available to date. You can get them by clicking on the date range links of the page you downloaded the three above files from. Scroll back up and click on the link "1980 - 2000". We will use game Agents 777 as an example. Click on the disk icon to the left of Agents 777. This is the table file. IT MUST BE EXTRACTED to the folder c:\pinball\tables. Now in the same row where you downloaded the table from, click on "IPDB" in the Info column. The required ROM image will be in here. Click on the link to download the pinmame rom set. These files should REMAIN ZIPPED and be placed in the c:\pinball\pinmame\roms folder.
Lastly, some tables require a sound file. It can be found here, http://www.vpforums.com/vptables/tables.php. Click on the link to download "VPinMame Samples". After it is downloaded it MUST remain zipped but need renamed to pinmame.zip. Now move it to the folder c:\pinball\pinmame\samples.
Now, to play a game, run the executable, c:\pinball\Vpinball.exe. Select File, Open and select a table from the folder c:\pinball\tables. This will load the table in design mode. You can launch the table by clicking on the red Play button in the left hand column or by pressing the F5 key.
Now you need what is called a command line wrapper to make Visual Pinball work with the standard Mame/MameWAH keys. You can get one designed especially fo Visual Pinball here, http://www.oscarcontrols.com/lazarus/#. It the Right hand column click on wrappers and select the one labeled "NEW! Visual Pinball Wrapper 4.0 Enhanced!!". Extract the file to the folder c:\pinball\tables. This should give you the following file, c:\pinball\tables\vp-launch4.exe and the following folder, c:\pinball\tables\vplcfgs.
Now you need to configure MameWAH to point to the commandline wrapper and set the other parameters. Here is a sniplet from my MameWAH's vpinball.ini file:

### Execution Settings ###
emulator_executable                       C:\Pinball\Tables\vp-launch4.exe
send_rom_path                             0
send_rom_extension                        0
quotes_around_romnames                    0
long_filenames                            0
show_dos_box                              no
default_options
extra_options_1
extra_options_2

That should about do it.

Some good resources for tables are:
http://irpinball.ztnet.com/ (In the downloads section)

Enjoy,
John
