screenshots not working in Project64 1.6?
« on: June 20, 2005, 10:04:23 am »
They worked ok in 1.5, capturing to numbered bitmaps.

But in 1.6, pressing F3 immediately crashes Project64. I notice it's trying to save to a named JPG instead of a numbered bitmap.

I've reproduced this on two different systems. Can anyone confirm, or report different results? Thank you very much!

OK, question was answered in the FAQ (when all else fails, RTFM I guess)

Why does taking screenshots with F3 not work?
The video plugin's internal screen capture may not work with FSAA enabled. If running in a window, you'll receive an error message. If running fullscreen, there's no error message because that would interrupt your game. One workaround is to turn off Anti-Aliasing, or use PrtScrn or some 3rd party capture utility. The other would be to use your graphics card's software to force anti-aliasing, instead of the plugin slider.

OK, I'm back to DANGIT THE SCREENSHOTS WON'T WORK AT ALL

I don't understand. I've tried mutliple systems, with every conceivable graphics option that I can imagine would make a difference. Every time, in WINDOWED mode (not full screen), pressing F3 generates an error, and I'm left with a correctly-named-but-0-byte file in the screenshots directory.

Has anyone here had better results with Project 64 1.6?

Thanks!
