Radioshack Converter to Mame help
« on: June 19, 2005, 12:05:13 am »
I just picked up today the Radioshack psx to USB converter. ( cat no 26-304)

And I'm using a Sony PSX dualshock. So far I haven't been able to get it to register in Mame32. I've read the Faqs on mame.net but nothing.
Can I get some help please. :-[

Is this a bad converter and should I get another kind? Do I need a PS2 dualshock or PS1 digital pad instead?

Or am I just doing something wrong and could I get a walkthrough.
Like the game loads and I hit TAB and get the menu screen I go to INPUT (this game) and then what should I do.

Did you enable gamepad, I think thats what it registers.

Also, i remember somewhere you need a powered USB hub to handle it or that may be wrong, as i dont have one to test  :-[

Where would I find the "enable gamepad" on mame or on my pc's control panel?

Options > Default Game Options > "Enable Joystick".

EJM,

Thanks man, you just answered a question I had (as to whether or not those converters really worked).  Now,  you wouldn't  happen to know if the psx light guns work also with MAME (tm) using that thing do you?  ;D
