I was just going through some stuff and found a few cards that I must have thought were worth something because they are in there own little hard cases and everything...  I never realy liked cards and junk and only collected a few to see if I could become "normal" and get used to it being cool.  Well, that never happend and I still think it's kinda dorky to have a piece of cardboard with some athlete on it so I figgure I'll see if I can make a few bucks.

So here's the cards, the only one I know anything about is the Yastrzemski1 card as my mother bought it for me and it was like $60 at that time which was like 10 years ago.  The B&W looking ones are hologram cards and the "scratches" all over them aren't even visible IRL.

Oh yea, what I'm looking for is the listed prices for these cards so I can try and sell them on eBay or something.  Of course I would have no problem selling one or more directly to a member here if they wanted some.

[edit]
:o After looking at what most cards go for on eBay, perhaps I'll find a different outlet...

If there's bees in the trap I'm catching em
By the thorax and abdomen
And sanding the stingers down to a rough quill
Then I dip em in ink, and I scribble a bit
But if it they wriggle then I tickle em until they hold still
Lemme say it again
In my land of pretend
I use bees as a mf'n pen

The '74 Yaz will get you a few bucks but certainly not $60.  The Yaz allstar card isn't worth more than a couple bucks.  Unfortunately, selling these things on Ebay is not worth it because only professionally graded cards go for anything near list value there.

Sports cards is a dead market for most things.

The all star yaz and the nolan ryan are worth nothing.  or maybe as high as .25 if you have a buyer.

The jordan is probably worth 1-3 dollars , but you need a buyer.  The robinson may be worth a dollar but I wouldn't count on it.

The 74 yaz is worth 2.50.  Or at least that is what it costs on an e-bay store and the guy has 5.

I have no idea why anyone would purchase and open a pack of cards.  You will lose money by doing that.

related note I have an ultra fleer gold shaq rookie card I picked up in hard plastic.  That was near the tail end of me collecting cards.  Where can I go online to see how much it is worth?

The guides are useless, no one pays that price, even at a card store.  No card store gets those prices... you could try ebay, but that's the low low end because you're buying the cards sight unseen, hence the requirement of being professionally graded to sell for real money.

Ok, so how would I find how how much it is worth.  It has to be worth more than the $2 I paid for it a long time ago, he's won a couple of championships :)
I should just wait  until he out or basketball or dies, then it would go up in price :)

It's probably worth 3-4 now. :)  You can get an unopened box with four of them for around 15-20 buck.  And the rest of the cards are worth 0.00 in that box.  I have around 50 of those rookies and threw one in as a bonus to a guy I sold a different box to last month.

Figures, like any good card, you have to wait until the player laeve the game or dies for it to be worth anything.

The whole market has died, it got profit mongered to hell like any other hobby.  The tragedy here is that this is an 80 year old hobby, not some crappy fad like Beanie Babies.

I still buy the occasional baseball cards, but never anything newer than 1983, and usually from the 60s or older.

That card will never be worth much.  If it were graded and a PSA 10 then it would have some value.  There are still tons of unopened cases of of boxes of that set.  Each box having 3 or four shaq rookies inside.  The production run on the sets from 87 - 94 were simply staggereing.  People were spending a ton on cases to invest.

A similar example was comics of the same era.  Companies were producing 3 million copies of a comic with a reader base of 250,000.  The rest were being bought by investors.  When they went to sell off some of their collection there were of course no buyers.  The industry barely survived.

Rodriguez is a ---smurfette---.  I have never laughed so hard at a televised baseball game as I did when he slapped that ball out of Arroyo's glove.  The so called best player of his generation can't even deal with the Sox/Yankees rivalry.

Bummer...

I guess I'll see if there's a card shop close by and get whatever I can get.

How much do you want for the first yaz card?

You won't get anything from a card shop either, if it's in perfect shape i'll buy it.

Honestly, you're probably better off buying one of the ones from this guy

For less than $5 you can have one shipped to you.  I don't think I can let mine go for a price like that...
