Very Simple Mamewah/AVGA question.
« on: June 14, 2005, 11:23:11 pm »
Hi all,
I am just setting up my arcade vga auto resolution tool and need an answer to a very simple question.
Where do I need to put all the ini files that are created?
I have read a few different posts on it but cant quite grasp the coorect place.
I dont have a mame ini folder as such, but only a mame.ini file.
Should I create a INI folder withinh my c:mame and make that my ini path for the resolution tool?
Sorry I'm such a hopeless joke
Justen.

youki

Create a INI folder under your MAME folder , and copy all your ini files here. it should be enough.

Don't know if Mamewah need more config.

Yes, and then make sure you point to the path in your mame.ini file, ie:

inipath                 ini

Thanks guys, come across another one though!
I set up Mamewah exactly as I want it on my PC with my crt monitor, resolution tool and all. Games run well, snaps work and all.
Then I plugged the pc into my cab and hooked it up to my arcade monitor via arcade vga and jpac.
It boots fine through windows, but when it goes to Mamewah the screen goes to black then flickers badly and I get some kind of error I cant read.
Is this just a problem with resolution ie, do I need to change the Mamewah layout res or could it be something else.
Thanks again.
ps. minwah if I had seen you were coming to australia earlier I could have traded room and board for setting up my cab.

I guess this is related to this thread: http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php/topic,38456.0.html - I just answered it ;)

I was very pushed for time but I would've happily tried to help out for board/beer/weed/etc...;)
