Simple screenshot FE?

Is there any FE's that just show a full-screen screen shot or title screen and allow you to key through them to launch MAME?

Lot of FE does that!.

you can try mine AtomicFE , www.AtomicFe.com . You can do that you want with it.

In your case, you wil have to do your own layout.

The trick is to do a layout with only a MarqueeList object , you set the number of item display to 1 .
And then you make point your "Marquee Folder" to your Snap Folder.  And that 's all.

If you choose Atomic and you describe me exactly how you 'd see your layout , i could do it for you.

Basically, I'd like only available games to display.

Black background with a screen shot in the middle and possible the game title above or below, and arrows or something indicating you can scroll left/right or maybe up/down and scroll to the next game with the joystick.  Then press start to launch the game.

Is that doable?

I second the vote for GameLauncher. It's easy to set up and does exactly what you want it to do. It's like the grand daddy of FE's. It's been around along time, and it's very stable. Plus it'll run on a minimal setup under all kinda of environments.

Go with the GameLauncher.

GameLauncher looks nice.  However, I can't seem to figure out how to NOT display a list on the thing.  I just want one selection onscreen at a time.  Anything I'm missing here?

Thanks!  Just gave it a shot, can't seem to get it to center the screen shots and there is no indicator that there are more games to choose from!

Unfortunately,  it skews the screen shots.  Say I have a 244 x 256 screen shot, it scrunches it from top to bottom, and stretches is sideways.

This really is an easy thing.

Center one game snapshot, with the Game title under or above it.  And some sort of indicator to show there are more to scroll through..    Scale the picture up to fill the screen, but don't distort it..

So, basically it would look like the old screen shot area in MAME32, but full screen..

ok, i see.  I will see if i can put an option in the next version to force to keep the aspect/Ratio.

you could probably achieve this pretty easily in any fe that keeps the aspect ratio of the screenshot (dk, mamewah, kymeara, etc). Just throw all unwanted stuff including the list off screen in the skinner of the chosen fe and center the screenshot rectangle. That should do it.

(Yes 3darcade too but it would be complete overkill to go for mine )

I know my frontend can do it.  Because I have a simple skin for my defender control panel... since it only really works with 2 games...

But again, WAY overkill.  Go with small and simple with a skin... Or better yet... Try the one with the custom skin made for you... see if it works... then spend the rest of your time playing

If you are nit-picking about those arrows, I don't think any of the fes can do it the way you want.  When dk is released you should be able to fudge in some "intelligent" arrow indicators, but since it isn't coming out anytime soon that doesn't really help.
