WTB: ATI Built 8500 AIW
« on: June 13, 2005, 10:57:22 pm »
Ive been looking to buy a AIW ATI built 8500 card cause that seems to be the best for an arcade system; I will be using a TV for my cab. Ive checked eBay for the past few days and only have seen 1 AIW on there. Would anyone know where I can find one or would happen to be selling one? Please, let me know. Thanks!!

I actually happen to have one I'd be willing to sell.

What's driving the All in Wonder component of your decision?

Granted, I used an All in wonder myself couple years back in my upright scratch built cab but in reality have never made use of the TV Tuner which drives up the cost of the card.

There's 7000 and 7500 series cards which are non-AIW that run pretty cheap these days each having Svideo out if thats the direction your headed to run to TV.

Matter of fact, I probably have an ATI 64mb 7500 around here somewhere I would turn lose of.

Actually, I do have a 7500 card, but for some reason the tv out picture is really blurry and the colors seem to be off, even with tweaking both the card and tv. Maybe its because its an off-brand ive never even heard of. Also, when browsing the boards I came across a thread "Component vs Svideo"; and I noticed one user has a setup simliar to mine (tv and everything) and he was running a ATI built AIW 8500; which he says the picture is incredible!! Plus, i'd also like to take advantage of that component output in the future as my cab building progresses. Thanks!!

Understood.

I never noticed much difference with my particular setup but have certainly seen references from others that support your findings.

Perhaps Alan can fix you up with the card you are lookin for.

Best of luck with your project.
